Corvette Lovers: First of all I want to thank the sponsors and donors who gave us all of the gifts. Secondly, I want to thank all of the club members for their help in making the Second Annual" Cruise the Palouse Car Show" a huge success. Without your help it would not have happened. Now with that being said, I want to thank all of you who came and attended the show, either as a attendee or spectator, for without you, there would have been only an empty park. I also want to thank the City of Latah for donating the park and all of the other support you have shown. We hope to continue to host the car show in the future. We were able to present to a spokesperson for the community food bank that supports Fairfield, Latah and Waverly a check in the amount of $900.00. This is the main reason we host the show, of course the other reason is to be able to look at beautiful cars and trucks and least I forget, the tractors. The weather was great, the food was outstanding, and a big thanks to the wrestling team from Liberty High School, who not only cooked, but were running around taking orders and delivering. I believe that we all had a good time, I know that I did. I do however want to apologize, when announcing the winners, that I didn't have the owners name and the car that won. Next year. Other than that, I thought the show went well. Hey! Our own video producer Will, has the DVD's for the show ready. For those who ordered one at the show, it's in the mail. A great silent round of applause for Will and his trusty camera. I haven't seen the new DVD yet, but if it is as good as last years, it will be a big hit . The selection of winners for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were voted on by the registered owners themselves. Our peers as it were. How for the winners: The Senior Teen Award: A plaque, was given to the oldest driver who drove a car to the show, was given to Lucy Covey of Osburn, ID age xx. This award was given to honor Alton O. Birch For 3rd Place: A trophy and a Clock wall plaque, was given to: Paul Dashiell, of Fairfield, WA and his beautiful 1957 Dodge Sweptside Pickup. For 2nd Place: A trophy and a Stone waterfall, by coin toss was Russ Mager, Deer Park, WA and his outrageous 1963 Mack Model B-73. For 1st Place: A trophy and a $400.00 complete auto detail. And the winner was Keith Huartson and his really fabulous and gorgeous 1940 Ford Turdor Sedan Deluxe. And last, but not least, the Peoples Choice Award: A plaque. This award is selected by the people who did not enter their cars, and by anyone who visited the show. We had the luxury of having a three way tie. The three nominees were: Lucy Covey of Osburn,ID and her gorgeous 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. Kim and Jamey Hyatt of Spokane, WA and their outstanding, and gorgeous blue 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. And Keith Huartson of Spokane, WA and his stunning 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan Deluxe. The winner was decided by a coin toss, odd man out, and the final winner was Keith Huartson of Spokane, WA and his 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan Deluxe. I hope that all who visit will think about coming to our show next year. Now that it's over it's time to plan some rides and have some fun and drive our cars. Whew!! I finally finished. See you on the road. I'll be driving a yellow vette. Your President, Richard Gauntlett |
